Department of Vegetable Science
The Department of Vegetable Science has been functioning since 2016 as one of the major departments
under the Horticulture discipline at Sri Krishnadevaraya College of Horticultural Sciences (SKCHS), Anantapur.
The department aims to impart fundamental and applied knowledge to students on various aspects of vegetable science.
This includes:
- Vegetable crop types and their propagation methods
- Standard and advanced cultivation practices
- Special horticultural techniques for improved productivity
- Sustainable horticultural practices
- Nutritional value and health benefits of vegetables
- Role of vegetable science in enhancing Indian GDP
- Future scope of horticulture in Indian agriculture
